Section Notes Catch-Up

March: Usual quiet month in January, after our New Year’s Day run led by Andy and Joy Barnett to Batsford Arboretum included a couple of temporary breakdowns, with only our AGM and Graham and Brenda’s Wrinkly lunch to report on. At the AGM the committee was unanimously elected to continue for another term and Glyn Buckler joined the committee as Webmaster. Regs are now available for our 50th Anniversary Run, which is open to all sections, please see our ad in this month’s Journal. Our March Hare run is on 22nd March and our final Wrinkly lunch on 26th.

February: In the January Journal we advertised our Golden Anniversary Run which takes place on 26th July. This will celebrate 50 years since our section was formed and we still have some founding members from 1964 (yes, we are a year late!). The route will meander back and forth across the Cotswold Way in the form of a figure of eight with a start and finish in Winchcombe where camping will be available. Members from other sections are encouraged to join us. Awards were presented at our annual dinner by VMCC President Tim Penn to Pam Clemons, Ian Scott, Simon and Mandy Shadbolt, Bob Ashwin, Graham Hallard, Brenda Hallard, Dave Bowell, Jeremy Main, Rusty Hart and Chris Delaney. Many thanks to Tim and Tricia for joining us in December. No one beats our turkey dinner! Looking forward, our next Wrinkly Lunch is on 26th February with Graham and Brenda Hallard.

January: Quiet month with Graham and Brenda Hallard hosting a Wrinkly lunch in Stratford upon Avon. Our December club night featured a double bill of John Bottomley who presented his report on the future of retail within the club (it was our Section who proposed the review of retail at the AGM), and Tim Bryan of the Heritage Motor Museum.
Our Christmas dinner was held at the Lygon Arms and thanks must go to Sandra and her staff for the excellent meal and to Andy and Joy Barnett for their organising once again.
