At the time of writing the outcome of the AGM vote on the new Articles of Association is still unknown. Will the Directors be given the mandate to continue the reforms or will the Club enter another period of turmoil?
The season kicked off with the Blossom Run with a good turnout on a fine day enjoyed by all, as was the wrinkley lunch. Good to see our retired secretary back on two wheels after recent illness.
On 1st May we will have a Relay Rally Checkpoint outside the Lygon Arms Hotel, Chipping Campden.
On 11th May we will lead a special run to Cleobury Mortimer to meet up with Shropshire section to receive the 70th Anniversary Baton. On Thursday 12th this will be passed to South Cotswold section during the scheduled Wrinkly run.
Don’t forget Club Night is a week later for May, on Tuesday 10th.
Our AGM saw our Chairman Mike Chiddick stand down, or rather, up, as he now becomes President, with Fred Simmons retiring from that post. Vice Chairman Bob Ashwin was elected Chairman and Andy Geden becomes Vice Chairman.
All other committee members were able to fight off the crowds and retain their posts……….. Many thanks on behalf of the Section to Mike for his many years in office as both Treasurer and Chairman, and also to Fred who will now have more time to get another bike!
Usual quiet month with just the ever popular Wrinkly Lunch to occupy us, but our riding season kicks off on 20th March with our March Hare Run from Campden.
Regulations are now available for our annual Cotswold Way Run on 24th July; 90 miles round the Cotswold. Other sections are especially welcome to join us again and get wet.
